Recently, the editorial board at Harvard’s student paper, The Crimson, published a vile article endorsing the antisemitic boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement, which aims to ruin the livelihoods of Israeli civilians by economically strangling the Jewish state.
For years, our nation’s most notorious hate groups have championed the BDS movement as a means to advance their antisemitic agenda. They have classified Israel, one of the most progressive nations on earth, as an apartheid state discriminating against its minority populations.
In reality, anyone who has traveled to Israel, especially those seeking refuge in the Jewish state from conflict zones in countries like Ukraine and Ethiopia, can attest to Israel’s thriving diversity and inclusion. Not only does Israel welcome people of all backgrounds to serve in areas ranging from education to government, but it is also the only country in the region that provides freedom of worship and equal rights to all minority groups.
By endorsing this racist agenda against Israel and the Jewish people, Harvard will be directly responsible for increased anti-Israel sentiments and antisemitism on its campus. When Jew-hatred is the highest it has been in the past four decades, student leaders at our nation’s prestigious universities should be denouncing this hatred, not encouraging it.
