Thank Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida for taking a staunch stance against the Hamas-aligned hate group calling itself Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP). In the days after Israel suffered a terrorist nightmare that was the largest mass murder of Jews since the Holocaust, SJP embraced the symbolism and genocidal rhetoric of Hamas, rallying in support of Hamas’s brutality and harassing Jewish students at their peaceful vigils. Governor DeSantis has ordered the State University System of Florida to deactivate SJP chapters on its campuses after determining that National SJP has violated state law by “knowingly providing material support…to a designated foreign terrorist organization.”
The Hamas massacre of October 7 was like no terror attack ever before. Thousands of terrorists burst out of Gaza and overran entire Israeli communities. In just a few hours of butchery, they slaughtered more than 1,400 people, wounded over 5,400, and took at least 222 Israelis hostage to Gaza. Terrorists targeted young people at a music festival, murdering at least 260 there alone and taking more hostage. 80% of the Israeli corpses from October 7 showed signs of rape and torture. Women were raped so brutally that their pelvises were broken.
SJP groups immediately responded by organizing a “National Day of Rage” against Israel. A National SJP toolkit embraced the barbaric attack on Israel as “resistance” and vowed that “students in exile are PART of this movement [Hamas].” SJP promotional materials have included images of the terrorist paragliders who participated in the slaughter at the music festival. SJP students have chanted slogans such as “All of us are Hamas” and “They’ve got tanks we’ve got hang gliders, glory to the resistance fighters.”
